    Siemens Acuson S2000

The Siemens Acuson S2000 ultrasound machine is part of the Siemens Acuson “S” ultrasound series. The other systems in this series includes the Siemens Acuson S1000 and S3000. The S2000 is popular for a variety of reasons including versatility, advanced ultrasound technology that supersedes the S1000, and it’s compatibility with many ultrasound probes and transducers (inlcuding 3D/4D probes)

The S2000 is extremely versatile and is capable of producing ultrasound images for many different applications. With options for 3D/4D OB-GYN and abdominal images, it is also capable of providing images for cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal, small parts (including breast, thyroid and testicular), and urological applications. This flexibility is particularly important when general diagnosticians and emergency medicine – when one never knows which structure will need to be diagnosed.

Some of the technological capabilities that the S2000 include, aside from the 3D/4D option obviously, Doppler imaging, speckle reduction technology, spatial compounding, tissue harmonic imaging and B-Mode. All of these technologies can be employed to enhance the quality of the average ultrasound image – allowing for accurate diagnosis, and healthier happier patients. Other technologies that make the ultrasound more user-friendly includes SmartExam and Scan Assistant.

When an ultrasound machine is compatible with many different types of ultrasound probes / transducers, it is an indicator that is multi-faced in it’s ability to project images for various applications. For example, the fact that the S2000 is compatible with the 14L5 linear array probe means that this ultrasound machine can project vascular, small parts and musculoskeletal images. Other types of probes that is compatible with this machine consist of curved array, phased array, and pencil CW (continuous wave) probes.
